I AM BACK, DARLINGS. DID YOU MISS ME?

I am ridiculously tired. Woke up at 6am, got a shower at 6:30, and we left around 7:30am. I think we got to Amanda's at around noon? IDK, I can't remember. Didn't get back home until 1pm, maybe? Argh, can't remember. Too tired.

Left the house at 1:30ish to go to the hospital because my Opa is sick. Stayed there until... okay, I suck at remembering times today. I think we got home at five or six? UGH. I THINK I AM GOING TO BED.

BUT, I had a great time. It was wonderful. The beach was awesome. Except for the sand, omg. Since I usually don't lay out on the beach, I forgot how sand travels in the wind. And there is no getting it off with anything except water.

The pool was great. It was small, because we were staying at a condo and not a resort, but I think most people went to the beach or just came down later than we did. I... would say more, but I am too tired to think of anything else.

Slowly working my way through my friends list. This is not made any easier by my tiredness. Need sleep ugh.

ALSO: TONY AWARDS. Anyone have Youtube linkage so I don't have to try to find it myself?

All right, I'm not leaving for the beach until Sunday, but I most likely won't be able to post anything tomorrow.

I'm going to be gone from Saturday to Thursday, probably not back on LJ until Friday or even the weekend, since I'm coming back to company. I might have internet access at the condo, but I'm personally hoping I'll be too exhausted to use it.

Try not to miss me too much. :P

Reason for choosing a non-animated icon for "fave animated": I do not have an animated icon and can't be bothered to come up with a better category, so I picked my "dancing queen" icon because if any of my icons deserve to be animated, it's that one.

Reason for choosing a text-less icon for "best quote": I don't have any text icons, aside from the "Donna and the Dynamos" poster, and I didn't feel like defaulting to it because of that. I used the "captain donna" icon, as I sometimes think of it, because whenever I see it I always think of the quote "Screw 'em if they can't take a joke" (which also happens to be its keyword) so it seemed appropriate, however vaguely.

Wow. So this is what watching history in the making feels like.

This is perhaps the best frakking thing I have ever seen. It's an op-ed piece of a conversation between Obama and fictional President Jed Bartlet, written by Aaron Sorkin. I have never missed "The West Wing" more than in this moment. As pathetic as it sounds, I frakking SQUEED, quite literally, like I haven't since BSG's "Sine Non Qua" and the ending of "The Hub", for several minutes. I hugged my laptop.

I miss that show. I miss those characters. Jesus Christ, I want The West Wing back, damn it, and not that frakking crap it turned into in the last few seasons. You see, my mom doesn't understand how come I'm not Ms. Happy Camper when it comes to the last few seasons, because they're not really that bad. But when you read that article, how can you tell me John Wells' Jed was as good as Aaron Sorkin's?

My favorite part of the conversation is this part, because I can hear Jed so easily:

OBAMA The problem is we can’t appear angry. Bush called us the angry left. Did you see anyone in Denver who was angry?

BARTLET Well ... let me think. ...We went to war against the wrong country, Osama bin Laden just celebrated his seventh anniversary of not being caught either dead or alive, my family’s less safe than it was eight years ago, we’ve lost trillions of dollars, millions of jobs, thousands of lives and we lost an entire city due to bad weather. So, you know ... I’m a little angry.

... Yes, I realize this makes me insanely geeky, squeeing over a fictional character and a conversation that never happened. DEAL WITH IT.

Edit: Emmys tonight! Nearly forgot. I'll probably live-blog it (I hope that means what I think it means) if only because it might give me something to do while I'm watching them. Oh, frak, I still have that frakking outline paragraph thing. Motherfrakking son of a bitch.

Edit 2: Also, Heroes tomorrow night! Three hour premiere! Frak yeah! ... And all the more reason for me to get my English done. *cough*

And I'm back, bbs! Sadly. I so didn't want to leave. None of us did. It went by WAY too quickly. But it's great to be back home in my own bed and I did miss my other friends. But this one week holiday ain't gonna cut it. Two weeks or nothing, baby!

I, uh, didn't really keep a travel diary. I've got a couple of pages I wrote the morning before we left, but I never finished it. I thought about writing on the plane, but couldn't be bothered. God, it was so much fun. It was great seeing them again.

Insert more talk about the great vacation here. I'll talk more about it later. Or maybe I won't. You never know with me.
